A Man on a Mission

Michael Beauregard Carlisle is a 28 year old man born and raised in Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan. At a young age Michael was diagnosed with Autism. A loving and supportive family, a knowledgeable school district, and a large circle of caring friends were an integral part of Michael’s upbringing and helped shape this extraordinary man. Michael is charismatic and beloved by everyone he meets, making him the inspiration for Michael B’s Café.​

Michael B lights up the room when he enters and many are captivated by his infectious smile and robust laughter. Michael doesn’t let the stereotypical restrictions of autism stand in his way. He forges his own path in life and does it all with a smile and innate kindness.

The creation of the café is a dream come true for the Grosse Pointes and surrounding area as it establishes a gathering place to serve, connect, inspire, and support the needs of all community members. With the strength of community collaboration, this café will provide a place where relationships can be built and lives changed. Michael is proud to be a part of an organization that provides meaningful work and the opportunity to share wonderful food, friendship and smiles with others..

Coffee is not just a breakfast beverage anymore, it’s a hand crafted masterpiece, a social experience, and most of all, a delicious drink with an aroma that ignites your taste buds. Our coffee is not just a flavorful delicacy, it’s an ethically sourced commodity imported directly from Farmers in Uganda. Through our partnership with Coffee Connecting Communities, we create social change in the communities where coffee is grown.
Together, we also support Coffee Connecting Communities, a registered US Not-for-Profit, that provides assistance to help save the Silverback Gorilla, sustain the homes, hearts, and habitats of our frontline farming communities who live in these UNESCO designated heritage sites near the gorilla habitat. We are proud of the many ways our coffee is impacting global causes.

Our team members aren’t the only thing that is sweet at Michael B’s. We use the finest ingredients that are an expert blend of French techniques, American classics and hand selected fresh fruits. Perfectly laminated croissants, Danish and puff pastries alongside almond sablee crusts and traditional pies are filled with scratch made creams, curds and seasonal fruit to create unforgettable pastries.
Like our sweet grandma Charlene used to say “dessert makes everything better” and here at Michael B’s we couldn’t agree more.

Why Premium
Matters
The names of our sandwiches may be silly but we couldn’t be more serious about the quality of our food. All of the meat at the owner-operated deli is hand sliced to order, and we only use Premium cold cuts. One of the most popular specialties on the menu is the roast beef, which is no surprise because the meat is prepared daily. Other hot sandwich options include brisket, eggplant, chicken parmesan, meatball and sausage and pepper.

They say "it takes a village" and our collaboration with the Full Circle Foundation is our proof. Together, we support the activities that foster a sense of self worth and independence in persons with challenges such as Autism Spectrum Disorder and Intellectual Challenges, by providing opportunities to contribute and participate productively in their community.
Full Circle Foundation is a fully accredited 501c charitable organization working in conjunction with the Grosse Pointe Public School System to provide opportunities for increased independence for individuals with special needs. Our vision is to provide diverse training experiences and independent living skills for persons with these challenges in our community. As part of our mission to foster independence, our goal is to prepare participants for employment, either in local businesses or one of the Foundation’s enterprises.
